Lights Out was a really fun campaign to work on because it was an original horror film based on a short story with no true notoriety or existing fans. This leant itself to a ton of creative development from my team to build the world of the film and introduce it to a totally new audience via socials.
Part of the campaign was to employ a tactic that the actual social media accounts marketing this film were haunted. In the videos, I worked with motion graphics designers to create mock Facebook posts that "came alive" as seen in the videos linked here (click on the pictures to go to the Facebook post to see them in action).
We also went back to old school jump scares in the AOL dial-up days where one would seemingly be watching something benign such as a car driving through the mountains and then a scary witch would pop on-screen with accompanying loud noises.
